Furniture Showroom Interior Design: The Loomly Customs Brief

Furniture showroom interior design — designing a commercial environment where custom upholstered pieces can be understood rather than simply seen — was the core brief for the Loomly Customs project. Loomly came to us with a specific problem: clients visiting their showroom saw furniture in isolation, disconnected from any interior context, and struggled to translate what they were looking at into a vision for their own spaces. The solution was to rebuild the showroom as a series of fully styled vignettes — each a resolved interior moment, each representing a distinct client typology, each showing a different category of Loomly's custom work in the environment it was made for.

The design challenge of a multi-vignette showroom is different from any residential project. Where a home serves one client's life, a showroom must speak to many simultaneously. The vignettes needed to be genuinely distinct — farmhouse, classical, contemporary, hospitality, outdoor — without fragmenting into an incoherent brand experience. The thread that holds them together is not style but craft: the quality of the upholstery work reads consistently across all twelve settings, which is precisely the commercial message Loomly needed to land.

Contemporary and Residential Vignettes

The contemporary residential vignettes — the large sectional sofa setting and the armchair reading corner — represent Loomly's core residential market and were designed with deliberate restraint. The surrounding decor supports the furniture without competing with it: neutral walls, considered lighting, enough context for the client to place themselves in the room, not so much that the piece gets lost in the styling. In furniture showroom design, this calibration is the primary design work. Too sparse and the furniture floats; too dressed and the craftsmanship disappears.

The armchair vignette introduces a more intimate scale — a reading corner with a side table and lamp that shows how a single bespoke piece can anchor a room without requiring a full interior scheme. Both vignettes are photographed to keep the upholstery's texture, profile, and seam detail legible, which is the point: Loomly's commercial case rests on material quality, and the showroom environment had to make that quality visible at first glance.

Classical Interiors — Deep Blues and Dark Walls

Two vignettes address Loomly's classical register — and a clientele that most contemporary showrooms underserve. The deep blue wall sofa setting and the dark navy dining room both demonstrate that Loomly's custom upholstery performs in formal, colour-saturated environments where the furniture must hold its own against bold surroundings. Showing this in the showroom was important: clients who want genuinely dramatic interiors rarely find evidence that a manufacturer can deliver for them in conventional neutral-palette showrooms.

The dark navy dining room is the showroom's most formal moment — a near-black dining environment with classical furniture forms and precise lighting that communicates both the capability and the confidence to go dark. It targets a specific client who knows what they want and needs to see proof that a manufacturer has done it before. This kind of targeted vignette design — built for a specific client type rather than broad appeal — is the strategic logic behind the whole showroom. Booth and Banquette: Hospitality Seating in the Showroom

The cafe booth and the red breakfast nook banquette represent Loomly's hospitality and built-in seating market — a distinct offer from their residential upholstery work. The booth vignette uses a distressed-brick-wall setting that signals the hospitality context immediately: tight upholstery, durable fabric specification, the precise dimensional control that commercial booth seating requires. It communicates to restaurant and cafe operators that Loomly understands their requirements without requiring a separate showroom section.

The red banquette breakfast nook is the residential crossover: a built-in seating element that borrows hospitality precision for a private kitchen or dining room. Custom banquette seating is one of the most requested residential applications in current interior projects — its space efficiency and the warmth a fixed upholstered element brings to a kitchen make it a natural fit for clients who want something more resolved than a dining table and chairs. Placing both vignettes in the same showroom environment communicates Loomly's range across typologies without compartmentalising it. Farmhouse, Outdoor and Pattern: Communicating Full Range

The final vignettes extend Loomly's offer into the full breadth of their capability: a farmhouse dining room with natural fabric upholstery and relaxed forms; a green couch in a farmhouse living room setting; an outdoor seating moment against distressed brick that communicates weatherproof fabric options; and a patterned-wallpaper setting with a statement red armchair for clients who want bold colour and print combinations in custom pieces. Each vignette is small but complete — enough to make the point, not so much that it overwhelms the showroom's overall legibility.

Across the twelve vignettes, the showroom communicates one central message: Loomly can produce custom upholstered pieces for any interior style, at a consistent level of craft. The interior design of the showroom itself — the sequencing of vignettes, the lighting strategy, the way each setting transitions into the next — is what makes that message land as a coherent brand experience rather than a furniture catalogue.
