Japandi as a design language — the synthesis of Japanese spatial minimalism and Scandinavian material warmth — is frequently applied as an aesthetic shortcut: low furniture, natural materials, a plant, minimal visual clutter. The result, in poorly executed Japandi interiors, is a room that looks like a mood board but lacks the spatial logic that makes a space feel genuinely considered rather than simply styled.
